A View of Dewey-Humboldt

Editor,

I vehemently disagree with Tom Hintze’s view for the town of Dewey Humboldt, in your article Town Finds No Conflict of Interest, on June 4th issue.  The reason we created the town of Dewey Humboldt was to remain rural and not become another Prescott Valley.

I want a town that provides the minimum of service to its residents.  That means we will have more than enough money from state shared revenue to fund the town.  If you do research you will find that septic tanks work extremely well as long as you don’t have dense housing.  Lots of 1.62 acres will not be dense housing.  I am happy to drive seven miles to Prescott Valley to do my business but that will not be necessary in the near future when the Quailwood commercial district gets built a mile up the road.

If  Dewey Humboldt wants a separate sewer system or water system it should be brought before the voters to decide because there are a lot of factors that most people are not aware of.  Do not try and get it in the back door by approving dense housing in order to get your view of the town established without the voters approving it.
